Boys had bottle curls, too

What a cutie! Bottle curls and proud of it! Cabinet Card. Will be offered soon.

Earthquake photos please – let's see them!

In light of today's earthquake, I thought I'd solicit some links to some great early earthquake photos. Send them on in in the comments section.

And I know some of you actually own some great early earthquake images. Feel free to post them here, too!  Let's see!

And - comments are now open to anyone, you don't have to follow this blog to comment.

* I just found this site - kind of the mother lode of photos.

Exquisite tinting - 1/9 plate daguerreotype

The British were the masters of daguerreotype tinting, and this 1/9 plate daguerreotype is a master work. Tinted from top to bottom. No spec of the surface spared. Sky tinted as if the sun was low. It's amazing what a good tinting can do to bring an image to life. Have had this for a few years but only recently rediscovered it in inventory.
